Population genetics is the study of genetic diversity at the individual, population or species level. It also involves studying how this diversity changes based on the four evolutionary processes - natural selection, genetic drift, mutation, and gene flow. Scientists in the field of population genetics also attempt to explain new biological species and adaptation.
